Inverted Editable Text

This is an example of how to do inverted text (where the text itself is hollow on a solid layer) using the Knockout blending setting.

How It Works
The trick is in the Knockout blending option on the text layer. When Knockout is set to "shallow" and the Fill Opacity is set to zero, the text layer will knock a hole through all layers below it in the same set. Layers outside the set (above and below) will not be affected.

Since the text layer and the solid layer are in the same set (folder), the text layer knocks a hole through the solid layer, creating the inverted effect. The background is not affected because it is not in the layer set.
